<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-LaSPH2F9uQE/VEhUpBDajcI/AAAAAAAAJhM/iaG-Qb7szMs/s1600/The%2BWall.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-LaSPH2F9uQE/VEhUpBDajcI/AAAAAAAAJhM/iaG-Qb7szMs/s1600/The%2BWall.jpg" height="222" title="" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
We exist in a world of perceived matter, expending tremendous effort to reconcile "life" to our pattern of thought while all the time, trying so hard not to lose our sense of self ... a throughly exhausting endeavour to say the least !</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
We say life is one, yet we stand apart, we draw up our own right & wrong but can find no solace in our decisions, and finally, we obscure our sense of being and stand out in the cold, unsure of what happiness even is... </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
We have a concept - this is how life "should be" ... but we find that it really isn't.. so we accommodate our concept to the present situation whereby we can eek out some joy ( or minimise our sorrow ) and then, having been forced to modify our concept, we are left unfulfilled .. this process, extended across our lifetime, gradually beats us down and leaves us as a hollow shell.. a sense of emptiness that absolutely nothing can fill... we simply cannot become whole - always looking for more..</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Is life to be one long series of compromises? how do we break this pattern and tear down this wall that we have built up out of our own incompleteness?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
we want a freedom that is infinite in its universality ... ever present in our consciousness - continuous and uninterrupted by "life" as it unfolds... a perpetual perfection is the only acceptable mode of being... anything short of this is simply not good enough. This is the core of man's search for himself...</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Once we clearly identify what we want, what we <i>need</i>, only then can the search begin in the right direction - whatever we have tried until now, we know, first hand, is simply not enough .. we are still stuck behind this wall that separates us from our own completeness...</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
what exactly are we waiting for ? </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
that which separates, cannot, at the same time, unite ...... weed it out and experience what it truly means to Be.... Happiness and Bliss are natural to this state and no further effort shall be required.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Live well....</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-bm6I64N1Qjo/UuWZpD9w4cI/AAAAAAAAJfg/XoSEzrtvh-c/s1600/Grananda+Alhambra+111.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-bm6I64N1Qjo/UuWZpD9w4cI/AAAAAAAAJfg/XoSEzrtvh-c/s1600/Grananda+Alhambra+111.jpg" height="179" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
our life as most of us know it, has a specific starting point and it will eventually end. yes, i know that is a ridiculously obvious statement but it is what happens between those two points in time that is of infinite interest. while the broad strokes are the same for all; we all come into being, grow, change, fall into decay and then cease to be, if one was to ask " what is the purpose of your life ", chances are you will be met with a quizzical look and a curious sound " uummmmm ". try it - absolutely fascinating.<br />
<br />
so what is the purpose of my life ... not your life, not of life in general, but MY life ?<br />
<br />
uummmmmm....<br />
<br />
there are many who may have a religious background and they will start enumerating what their "book" tells them their life<i> should </i>be about ..<br />
<br />
there are some who say it is to live in the moment yet given the number of moments they would have had to experiment with, it would seem they have not yet perfected that art..<br />
<br />
there are those who say they don't care but seem very anxious most of the time so simply not caring is not working for them..<br />
<br />
those who have only one life to live get progressively more anxious as they approach their finishing line and those who feel they will somehow return let the apathy of a promised reincarnation absolve them from any sense of urgency to actually live in the here and now.<br />
<br />
so is there a purpose ? if one doesn't know, is there any inclination to find out ?<br />
there are those who will spend days on the internet to figure out which is the best camera to spend our hard earned dollars on - how much research have we done to find out how to spend our singular life ?<br />
<br />
ultimately, we will cease to be. that is a given - a ridiculously obviously statement - but till then, where am i going ? and why ??<br />
<br />
live well.<br />
<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-muGXcqpziVI/UYMYJPGAdRI/AAAAAAAAIpI/oPSJRI_17uA/s1600/The+Key.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="225" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-muGXcqpziVI/UYMYJPGAdRI/AAAAAAAAIpI/oPSJRI_17uA/s400/The+Key.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
i have noted, of late, an increasing discontent among those who pursue their belief system with apparent diligence and the complaint seems to be similar in all cases - nothing has changed. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"i am doing everything required and yet nothing in my life has improved - i am stuck in the same place."</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
why would that be so ? i know if i train to run, slowly, over time, there is a definite improvement in stamina and distance. so why is it that when it comes to life, i am pretty much stagnant ? i relive the same torments, the same anxiety, the same frustration and anger .. what am i doing wrong ? what am i missing ?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
perhaps it may be that we all feel we are smarter than we are. it's like downloading a new game and not bothering to read the rules - the "i can figure it out as i play - how hard can it be ?" mentality.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
any philosophy will have at its core, some basic tenants and while i use the word "basic", this does not mean easy. in fact, as most will know, if you get the fundamentals wrong, you will never master your chosen sport or skill - you will forever be stuck in the "ok" arena ... even top sportsmen will sometime take a sabbatical and announce to the world that they are going back to work on their basics... it's importance can never be overemphasised !</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
so what are the essential basic qualifications of any spiritual growth that must be exercised and mastered?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
1. a keen sense of discrimination ( between what is Real and what merely appears to be so ).</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
2. dispassion - a detachment based on a true understanding of the ephemeral nature of all mater bound by space and time.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
3. a cultivation of noble qualities enhanced by an continuous attendance of your head and your heart.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
4. a burning urge to reach the Goal - to be that which you seek.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
the "how to" for the above is available under the guidelines for each faith but perfect these you must.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
there is an ocean of difference between simply understanding and actual experience of that One great Infinite. and if the Infinite is what you seek, you must first cultivate a love for all that the Infinite encompasses, which is pretty much everything.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
a philosophy without love leads to the <span style="text-align: left;">madness of regimentation </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
love without a philosophy is mere superstition </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
live well.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-FFewhSX32UQ/UT_RjtXMJoI/AAAAAAAAIoo/RLwBHp3gd3k/s1600/Krishna+Shadow.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="318" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-FFewhSX32UQ/UT_RjtXMJoI/AAAAAAAAIoo/RLwBHp3gd3k/s400/Krishna+Shadow.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">the hindus have way to many gods ! possibly one for every aspect of creation ... whatever for ? isn't one enough and if you happen to be one of those that does have faith in a god or supreme being or power, is a particular image even necessary ?</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">let's start with a presumption that we have some sort of faith and we want be evolve into the most noble expression of man as possible. for this, we need to be bigger than we are right now and to find inspiration to do this, we need to dedicate our activities to a higher cause than our immediate personal gratification. there is no easier way to be selfless than to do something for the one you love. a mother for her child, the lover for his beloved, the patriot for his nation...</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">however, you cannot love that which you do not know - there can be respect for and even inspiration to a certain extent drawn from abstract ideals but to love to the point where you are willing to lose yourself... that comes only when you have a very intimate relationship with the object of your love.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">and love comes naturally. so while one devotee may fall in love with the baby Jesus, another may be enchanted by an adorable Krishna and still a third by the ascetic Shiva. there is no choice in this ... love comes in many forms so let the believer choose at which altar to offer the garland of his devotion.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">the consistent purifying of one's being through devotion and selfless work towards the greater good will gradually distill our personality and prepare us for the lofty heights to be scaled through contemplation and meditation. here, as we let the world of names and forms dissolve away, we experience a complete merger into the Essence of That which Is. in this Silence, there are no "others", no "me", not even "my god" ... here, Consciousness Alone Is.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">this is a Fullness that encompasses and inhabits all with no division whatsoever.</span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">when such a man of realisation acts in the world, he leads by example so that others may easily follow. he continues to offer his life as a dedication to the Lord of his heart and so it is that we have the great prophets and sages enraptured with love for their Divine Lord. with every breath he sings his Lord's glory and with every act, he serves his Lord's will.</span></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ImViDzKwx9U/UDbNX04Vw8I/AAAAAAAAHEM/cItBE5iAhYQ/s1600/Connect.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ImViDzKwx9U/UDbNX04Vw8I/AAAAAAAAHEM/cItBE5iAhYQ/s400/Connect.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
there seems to always be some chatter on "Karma". whether it is at the ballroom table or the yoga centre, the ashram or on the sofa at home... it is the buzz word on everyone's lip and yet the concept seems vague to most...</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
most things operate on a simple cause and effect basis. wood, tools, carpenter - fiddle around with the variables and you can work out how that lovely coffee table in your living room came about.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Existence is a little more complex. the Supreme Cause, as it were, does not stand apart from the effect. unlike the carpenter who is NOT the table, one cannot extricate the Cause from the effect when dealing with the manifestation of creation as a whole because the Cause is verily infused and interwoven as a hidden presence into every effect. hence cause and effect are connected organically.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
this vital connection lends a certain precision to the mechanism of universe. so much so, that standing at a single point in time, one can place a star at a particular vector three hundred years ago or predict the time of tomorrow's sunrise. the past-present-future mechanics principle works from the universal down to the individual; it is all a single connection of the Supreme Intelligence expressing Itself within Itself ( as there can be nothing "outside" It ).</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
hence we tie up the transcendental, the universal and the particular.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
with this invisible link pulsating within this magnificent cosmos one realises the potency of action ( of word, deed and thought ) and the inexorable fruit of action. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
the Causal Potency permeates everything. do one thing here, something there WILL happen.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
there is no good or bad in this - it is universally impartial, supremely just and it will never change.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
simply be aware of this String of Consciousness - what is there is here ( in you ) and what is here is everywhere... it is this awareness that elevates your being, your life, into something sublime and resplendent.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
live well.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
i am... how magnificent that sounds.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
i am young, i am smart, i know this and i can do that, and i.. i.. i..</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
i am just wonderful !</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
so if i am so wonderful, why do i sometimes feel like i am drowning in a sea of insecurity and grappling so fervently to hang on to... that which i am unable to even define.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
i am free, yet i feel so entangled. i do so much, yet i feel indebted. i know so many yet there is a unfathomable loneliness. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
you can follow a path, give in charity, read inspirational quotes and yet... yet, there is a hole that seems impossible to fill. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
we seem to be limited by the very individuality we hold so dear.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
somewhere in the recesses of our consciousness, we know... we are acutely aware that we are incomplete... that there is more. it is that restlessness in not only wanting more, but in wanting it all that pushes us to want to go beyond ourselves.. to hold infinity in the palm of our hands. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
but how ? and where does the error in our perception lie ? obviously we are doing something wrong for we are no where close to experiencing infinity.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
it seems we trying to catch the moon that is reflected in the shaky waters of the lake.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
we try to learn more ( with our mind )</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
we try to understand the why ( with our intellect )</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
and still we are stuck. still here. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
in our frustration we say there is nothing else.. nothing beyond us. we are the final frontier .. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
and yet, still... we feel incomplete. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

how do we stop "learning" how do we fall into the ecstasy of "being" ?</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-jICvJvkhUiQ/UANuhyBz_8I/AAAAAAAAHDE/VZXkkt2LqQg/s1600/Explanation.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-jICvJvkhUiQ/UANuhyBz_8I/AAAAAAAAHDE/VZXkkt2LqQg/s320/Explanation.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
i have written my perception on various thoughts i have read and the primary reason i write is so that <i>I</i> will not forget.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
reading a sentence somewhere may start a chain reaction which may link passages in other texts and thus i have a train of thought in that instant - but it may slowly fade away like the morning mist; so i try and put it down and give myself the opportunity to review it later and perhaps add a further link into that chain.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
reading an "explanation", however, does not remove ignorance. things are still exactly the same after simply reading an explanation. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
and what is ignorance ? is it not just our own apathy towards facing the truth. i have no ignorance of hunger - i know the condition completely and have learnt how to conquer this state of being. so ignorance is not "i have not been taught" but rather "i am turning away from learning"</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
life is always presenting us with the opportunity to learn. choosing not to do so is ignorance.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
all this, of course, happens within the frame work of time and since i am not outside the time stream, i must float along - sometimes right at the very top and sometimes, drudging the muddy bottom.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
one must be vigilant, for change is perpetually ongoing. never use "time" as an excuse. if you know its nature, apply it as an opportunity to be prepared for when the change comes. hence, removing this ignorance is ultimately in your own best interest and while it is natural to do so for primarily material gain, those who are floating at the top of that stream always seem be gazing out at the horizon... what are they looking for ? don't they have it all ? who can explain it to them ?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
even then it is not too late. time thrusts forward unceasingly - it is never ever too late.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
once you recognize a state of non-comprehension of the "how & why", muster up your courage and seek out the answers. this must be done by you and for you for none can learn for you. lift your veil of ignorance with the strength of your own wisdom.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
understanding of what is True ( That which is not subject to "Time" ) is the slow flame that cooks us to perfection so that we may emerge forth as the delicacy that nature intended : all the varied ingredients merging into a delicious whole.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
yet it all seems so daunting : learning !</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
we get one tube of ointment from the doctor and off we dash to the Net to learn every possible side effect of the drug and within a month of treatment, we are veritable experts regardless of how complex the explanations .. and all this for a swollen toe.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
you can get swept down the river or you can navigate it to some degree and enjoy the expanse that Time shares with you.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
either way, there's no getting off this ride for now.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
live well.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Icq4UVa3S7g/T9p65OtivEI/AAAAAAAAHCE/0z2OY5T9w8o/s1600/Why+%3f.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="223" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Icq4UVa3S7g/T9p65OtivEI/AAAAAAAAHCE/0z2OY5T9w8o/s400/Why+%3f.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
" i have a question .. " </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
how many times have you uttered these words to a priest or holy man? more importantly, how many times have you listened to the answers ( a good way to gauge would be if you can remember the answer ) and then how many times have you applied the answer to your life : life, not the series of tomorrows to come but the relentless happenings of the right now.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
take a moment to ponder. jesus, buddha, krishna - none of them stopped sorrow. sorrow and confusion were in abundance even at their time and has multiplied exponentially since...</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
so what was their greatness ? </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
they had a faith; a system to approach life and they applied that system to their own lives - it is not something they could impose upon anyone so they lived it themselves and as it worked, they tried to share their faith or knowledge with those around them out of their sheer love of humanity and creation as a whole.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
but how many listened ?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
yes, i may quote the bible or gita or any other venerable text but those are just words - if i speak them without the fragrance of truth emanating from my life then those words are merely propaganda - they simply add to the chaos.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
so what's the answer? in fact, where does the question stem from?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
if you are aware you are confused, it must be a immediate awareness - you cannot ask a question based on a future emotion or frame of mind - you perceive your current state of mind instantaneously. hence, if you are open to the answer - having put aside your own barriers of prejudice and ego - the antidote to your sorrow must also be applied to your immediate happenings, the sum of which equate to your life, and from this application, a Truth is discovered within yourself - a revelation !</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
listen, ponder, adopt, live and discover the glory of the christ way of life, the buddha way of life, the krishna way of life...</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Truth cannot be given to you. there are no answers to your questions.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
it is only in the living of the Truth that all questions are finally laid to rest.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
live well.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">it was a good day. i paid my eyes $2,000 for showing me a morning rainbow. i paid my legs $3,500 for getting me to and from work and the rest of my body earned $9,300 for its share of the day's labour.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">doesn't sound right ? isn't that the way you interact with your body and the services it provides you ?</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">strange... yet that is how we view every other transaction, every other act ( noble or otherwise ).</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">yes, even with noble acts we anticipate a deposit into our "good deeds" account - a definite payout due to us at some future date - all of us keep accounts with the Universe.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">tragically, this very consideration wraps the noose of time tighter around our being. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">ponder : we declare a belief in "God" who is accepted to be beyond time and space and yet with every breath in which we barter our actions against future gain, we are imprinting a time stamp on our continued existence ... the two seem to be an a<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #222222; line-height: 16px;"><em style="color: black; font-style: normal;">ntithesis</em></span> of each other ... how does one bask in the Timeless when we are constantly cementing our being into the very fabric of time itself ?</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">yet we must all act ... quite a quandary - what are we missing ?</span><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">perhaps it is our failure to recognize the Universal Principle that binds the cosmos together; that Force is accepted to be Eternal and <u>all Pervasive</u> which would indicate that nothing is really ours - our very existence is borrowed from That ( as is the rest of creation ) and hence, as with our body parts, we are to act in harmony with all other aspects of the universe with no expectation of payment, reward or merit - we do it because we are an expression of that One Existence just as our legs take the rest of our body where it wishes to be.</span></div>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">recognize the Universal in the particular and <i>then</i> act... to the extent this recognition takes hold in your psyche, to that extent shall you be at peace for your essence gradually falls into synchronicity with the Source of all ( within which even this expression of "you" exists )</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">live well.</span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>the self help religion seems to be gathering momentum; we read the best sellers, you-tube the talks and google the sites so reverently...</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">the irony, of course, is that we keep looking outwards for someone to help us without wishing to lift a finger to help ourselves! an odd self help technique indeed... a twisted belief that simply reading something will make it so.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">we wish to change inside; stop the pain, empower our being, raise our consciousness but all through an immersion in the external phenomena of researching the miracle-method of the month.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">the magnificent phrases and cliches that roll off silvered tongues are truly to be admired. but how do those magic catch words intrinsically help us ? </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">even a caterpillar knows it has to first withdraw itself totally from the external, spend some time in silence and then emerge, resplendent and transformed ... how is it, that after reading, watching and hearing so much, we refuse to do the same - our rush outwards is unceasing and ever accelerating towards an ultimate frustration that engulfs us in a stupor of self pity until we start all over again with a new "system" ; pinning all our hopes of redemption on a new secret revealed..</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">when viewed from the vantage point of serenity and wisdom, those who KNOW have laid out the path in every age... there simply is no new way, merely the correct understanding in contemporary times of what it takes to walk the road that has already been so lovingly paved in anticipation of your arrival.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">align yourself to something that stirs you, live it, surrender to it, be devoted to it without compromise - merge your being into its essence.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">if perfection is what you seek, only you can find it.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">ever feel like you're not sure whether you're coming or going ? or even why you continue doing all the things that seemed so important when you started and now simply don't .. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">all that time gone, all that energy spent and yet somehow, you feel like you haven't moved at all... like a fly suspended in amber.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">sure, you may have more things; wealth, homes, status and so many friends... now you are "somebody" .. yet, somehow, you wonder... does anyone know the real me? do i ?</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">in truth, who am i ?</div><div style="text-align: justify;">what did i really want out of life ? did i find it or did i try to obscure it with my self-imposed value system on the things that i did find instead ? </div><div style="text-align: justify;">did i look in the right places... did i even know where to look for what i did not know i wanted through this person called "me" whom i do not even know ?</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">wow - what a mess !</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">but that's not me, you say. what's the touchstone ? it's really very simple... are you happy? not a sometimes happy, not a "i'm in a good mood" happy - the happy, blissful, continuous peace that you long for but are painfully aware you lack.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">now, naturally, the question presents itself.. so where do i go from here ?</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">well, as with most pursuits that have gone off-track... you need to go back to the basics ! re-visit the Who? What? Where? and if the search is sincere, the How? will present itself...</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">life has a way of presenting crossroads... which path you choose to take is yours alone...</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: justify;">"look within" : how many times has someone said that to you ?</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">what exactly are they referring to ? and given the expanse of the universe vs the tiny me contained with my 5 foot 10 framework, wouldn't it be more logical to look for whatever it is i am seeking out there ?</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">unfortunately, the outside ( relatively speaking ) will always be conditioned or governed by its primary elemental factors.. it simply cannot function past its nature and will always be limited as such. if we were to seek anything in such an arena, the result of our efforts would, thus, also confined to the outer limits of its intrinsic conditioning - just as a pet on a leash can only wander as far as the length of the leash would permit.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">what about this "inside" ? </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">ever try to communicate with yourself while you are dreaming ? can the you, lying in bed, step into your dream and have a little heart to heart with the you who is having a bad day in the dream world .. no ? </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">everyone dreams, and yet you cannot communicate within your own distinct levels of consciousness which you experience intimately every night; so how does one tap into an "inside" that most have no experience of whatsoever, add to which our ongoing surge outward constantly repels us ever further away from that core, within which, all we truly seek is already contained.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">the fallacy lies in our perception : we see the two as distinct and exclusive - yet the source is One. every wave contains the ocean's water. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">alter your perception so that this One is recognized in everything we experience. as the "outside" is bathed with the waters of singularity, we start to truly see that one is merely a reflection of the other.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">ultimately we comprehend that our mind is our personal hall of mirrors - if dissipated and frantic, we get lost in the mutilated visions "outside"; but, if we train ourselves to be centered in silence ( KNOWING there is nothing other than That ) and then allow that which IS to simply fill our being - we automatically exist as we are "inside" - Infinite and Non-Dual.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">so look within, and make your world beautiful. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">live well.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />

try as you may, the two simply cannot make a perfect fit..<br />
<br />
so you do your pooja in the morning, go to the mosque on friday or church on sunday - what about the rest of the time? your underlying core finds its expression in its daily interaction with the world as you know it... this is who you are.<br />
<br />
whether these are days of excessive indulgence or quiet contemplation, how you live on a daily basis is what defines you... chanting a mantra for 2 minutes in the morning is not going to stop you from wanting that glass of wine by 6pm ... the call for happy hour is way stronger than that! you may praise god and say he is all love and ever present but the guy who is driving you to work is an imbecile - where did the love go? did god decide that this particular cab driver was suddenly not part of his "everywhere"? is love suddenly not the answer?<br />
<br />
so what's the problem here? Nothing at all if you are honestly being yourself - the issues arise when the way you project yourself is intrinsically not who you are or who you could be ... when what you say is your faith is something you have no faith in, for you do not practice it and it finds no expression in your life.<br />
<br />
this fracture ultimately leads to repression, shame and frustration .. a ticking time bomb, the repercussion of which will not only be deadly to yourself but also to those around you. <br />
<br />
if you want to go out every night, do it. exhaust yourself, drain your life force and waste away - there is no judgement - its your life to do as you please. why make excuses for it ?<br />
if you want to study, evolve and keep a marginal social contact with the world, that is fine too.<br />
if you manage to find a balance, apply what you study and help those around you, you may try to do so.<br />
<br />
there is no right way or wrong way for all water finds its way to the ocean.<br />
<br />
the point is this... if you feel the need to pray, a part of you wants more - more than what you know your life to be. but what is this more and why do you forget that you want it once you step out of your silence? what pulls you into the chaos again and again? the same clubs, the same indulgences, the same need to be praised and admired, the same need to show the world who you are, the same need to accumulate more and more, the same insecurities, the same fear of being invisible, the same, the same, the same ... how exhausting to be perpetually stuck like a fly in amber ...<br />
<br />
and again in that silence, the same emptiness...<br />
<br />
so what am i selling here? nothing! your life is your own - it has absolutely nothing to do with me - all i am doing is holding up the mirror - look closely and ask yourself : " do you like what you see ? "<br />
<br />
live well.<br />

<br />
here are the variables we have to work with :<br />
<br />
who i am and what i want<br />
the things out there and what makes them desirable<br />
the medium of interaction : time and space<br />
the method of interaction : life<br />
<br />
life, simply put, is an expression of the Infinite Universal Principle.<br />
time and space seems to split the universal into structural differences<br />
these particular manifestations attract us only if we perceive their effects upon us to be pleasurable<br />
the objective of happiness or pleasure drives us in our unending pursuit of these objects<br />
and ultimately we have no idea who we are or why we can't find perpetual joy or bliss.<br />
<br />
how does one work this puzzle out ?<br />
<br />
the problem stems from the fact that we are trained to spot differences and not the underlying unifying principal ...<br />
<br />
there are a million different "things" out there ( and these include the people we interact with ) but it is not the things that interest us, we are looking for their ultimate effect ... the hope that we will derive joy / happiness from such a union .. yet infinite joy is not possible by mere addition of finite items.<br />
<br />
however, multiplicity does not negate the essential One - the interfering vapors of time and space upon the Universal gives us the shimmering mirage of life as we apprehend it - fractured, stressful and empty.<br />
<br />
yet time and space borrows it's power from our very consciousness ... in deep sleep, where is your city, child or empire - where did time itself go ?<br />
<br />
so we come back to Consciousness ... the original source, the ongoing substratum and our ultimate goal.<br />
<br />
an applied cognition of this Principal brings the particulars back into the fold of the universal - that is, nothing is abandoned but rather absorbed back into our essential Being and when seen from this standpoint, no desire remains - all that is, I AM.<br />
<br />
So the final equation for a happy life ?<br />
<br />
RECOGNIZE and TRANSCEND ( careful now: this is not the same as reject and suppress ! )<br />
<br />
use your life, with a vision fine tuned to see past the distorting lens of time & space, to understand that true joy and bliss lie beyond the scope of the accumulation of finite objects but rather in dissolution of the individual entity and myriad objects into the cosmic whole.<br />
<br />
You Are All That You Behold - what, then, is left to want or need ! <br />
<br />
problem solved :)<br />
<br />
<br />
live well.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />

<br />
so god is everywhere. got it.<br />
<br />
and i am here .. but where ? there seems to be no place for me if god is taking up all the space.<br />
<br />
so let's say, god makes a box ( out of himself since he is the All ) and he puts me ( again, created out of Himself ) into the box. i can see other people and other things ... so i have to assume, they are in the same box and they too, are made out of the All.<br />
<br />
so i am now a content of creation ( creation being this box i am in ) interacting with "the others", who have as their core, the same Source as myself.<br />
<br />
now it gets really complicated - i feel i am independent - a universe unto myself - and everything else is, hence, not me. this induces me to pull certain things towards me and repel others - we spiral downwards into the pit of likes and dislikes and suffer the resulting pleasures and pain completely oblivious to the fact that there can be no "other" for the building blocks for all creation is one and the same.<br />
<br />
so why all the stress ? why the isolation and fear ? why the anguish and pain ?<br />
<br />
what we need is an active form of deconstruction ... the way forward is to progressively move back.<br />
<br />
there are no others<br />
i am part of That<br />
there is no place other than Him<br />
i am already at the Source<br />
i am nothing but the Source<br />
<br />
the box is now not only empty, but in truth, there is no box.<br />
<br />
simple directions, but where do we start ? we expand our vision, open our hearts and completely encompass all around us ... feel, in your heart of hearts, FEEL, there is only ONE... once that first step is taken, the rest follows, like the river to the ocean..<br />
<br />
live well.<br />

<br />
<br />
doing something religiously forms a pattern of repetition .. the tenants of all Religions.<br />
<br />
this would, hopefully, prepare one's mind to step into the philosophy which may extend even past the boundaries of the Religion itself.<br />
<br />
the churning of these concepts in a given philosophy, if seriously undertaken, will weed out most of the grime and will distill your essence to a point where your mind will feel as if it has to choose; are there 2 or is there only 1...<br />
<br />
a path of duality will aways keep you one step away from god while a non-dual "belief" will leave you wondering, "so if there is only 1, then 'who am i ?' "<br />
<br />
these two paths are not to be debated for such a mental duel is the last snake on the board upon which, if you slip, you end up at the beginning of the game and the entire journey must be undertaken again.<br />
<br />
if you are truly prepared and earnest in your quest for the truth, having dropped off all other vestiges of life as you know it, seek out one who knows ... not "about" what you seek for that would require him to utilize his mind to express a concept and hence you are once again operating from a platform of duality but who "Is" an expression of what you seek. in such a presence; surrender - that lingering sense of self will vaporize and that final question no longer needs an answer for there is none left to ask it .. what was perceived to have emanated from silence, is now Silence itself.<br />
<br />
a journey that never was, can have no destination.<br />
<br />
<br />

</div><div style="text-align: justify;">take me, for example. i am a bundle of existence, desires, hopes and fears and of course, as is the nature all that is, this particular bundle will eventually cease to be part of life though life will go on without even mourning the loss of me !</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">so i float like a twig, bobbing and swirling, upon the unceasing river of life... life, which moves on, in utter disinterest of my achievements or plights and which will eventually wash away all traces of my personality as it crashes against its 2 banks of time and space ! </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">yes, there are those who have left their mark ( some good, some evil ) for such is how the force of life expresses and unfolds itself - the contributions of such may be remembered but what about the sadness felt or all the thousand other ups and downs they went through ? what of those intimate emotions left unexpressed, of the myriad dreams not lived and hopes not fulfilled ? </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">wild stallions may be tamed, saddles fastened and the creature mounted but that does not seem to work with life...</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">so... life... given it's infinite span and our limited one, how best to live it regardless of the conditions one may find oneself in ?</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">perhaps grasping its very nature is the all important first step - an accurate perspective is essential in all endeavors; shouldn't the same apply to your existence ?</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">perspective of what is real and what is not, of what is time well spent or simply squandered and of the value of today for there may not be a tomorrow. just doing is not living, and simply being alive is not a life. planning guarantees nothing while ambivalence leaves one in limbo allowing life to simply ebb away. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">ask the right questions and if you have the courage and believe in the answers, the bobbing twig may transform into a solid bridge and perhaps instead of being swept down the river of life, one may cross it with the peace borne of wisdom and experience what lies on the other side.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">live well.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />

</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">truth, as with all things that exist within a temporal framework, is incapable of being "absolute".</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br />
</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">at best, those aspiring towards the Absolute, try to tune their <i>concept of truth</i> into greater resonance with those of the Masters who have walked through the portal of their own conceptualizations and emerged resplendent - bathed, as it were, in God-Hood itself.</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br />
</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">every other truth is an interpretation of a given mental framework - seen from any particular standpoint, every truth may be argued and that in itself, is a glaring declaration that it is not such. </span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br />
</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">how does that help us? well, it doesn't - you will see what you see, continue to do what you do and Life will simply go on.</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br />
</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">that is not a condescension - all life is an expression of one singular Spirit, undivided and comprehensive - you are already what you most yearn to experience.</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br />
</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">there is no wrong way, long way or lost along the way scenario - there is only Spirit reveling within It's own expression of Itself, seeking only Itself and ultimately merging within Itself.</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br />
</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">the rest is simply academic </span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">the rest is mental noise; co-incidental and fleeting - for that which never was, can never be.</span></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-dr0RlDfJjPk/TmwUyembG1I/AAAAAAAAGlY/p18gYXhIofU/s1600/The+Other.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-dr0RlDfJjPk/TmwUyembG1I/AAAAAAAAGlY/p18gYXhIofU/s320/The+Other.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">we all love to watch a good show and there are no better performers than those whose entire lives are dedicated to being watched - everything they do is geared to evoke a response; whether it be they way the wish to appear, the names they drop or the social calendar they mold their existence around.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">of course, what would be the point if they were no spectators and here is where most of us fit, we are the vast crowd - we clap, we cheer - we watch life pass us by like a parade while standing on the side lines.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">still, there is a third - the observer; the one on a totally different path. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">a spectator looks outwards whereas the observer looks inwards trying to fathom who is watching what ?</div><div style="text-align: justify;">the eyes can see only if life is present, a corpse may have eyes yet there is no power of sight. </div><div style="text-align: justify;">so who is truly seeing ?</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">if you get lost in what you are seeing, smelling, hearing, tasting or touching, then you are mere spectator. if you can raise your awareness towards the consciousness that allows your senses to do so, hold on that essence, then you are approximating towards the One.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">reflect : "One" presupposes that there is no "other" </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">so here is an interesting formula ; there is no doing of anything but rather a shift in awareness of everything that is being done - the observer, thus, slowly dissolves into the One and the others cease to be.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">it is not that you now stand alone in a world of empty structures - quite the opposite; you now exist in a plane where all that is observed is seen as a reflection of Him, like the full moon reflected in every ocean, sea and puddle.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">hence, one no longer needs to feed the ego by performing, one no longer needs to fill the void by hanging on others - one is simply at peace by tuning into the Universal Consciousness by which and in which all appears to be happening.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">here, finally, the ancient declaration "That thou Art" unfolds its truth.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">live well.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-MQywEKRTpNI/TmV2TL-6mtI/AAAAAAAAGlQ/IHVbjKbqunU/s1600/Concept.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="288" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-MQywEKRTpNI/TmV2TL-6mtI/AAAAAAAAGlQ/IHVbjKbqunU/s320/Concept.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I love car shows .. but not to view the cars that are being made, but for the concept cars - futuristic, fantastic and inspirational. most, of course, will never be made. the car makers are simply showcasing their skill for their potential; what they could do if they wanted, but as economics are invariably factored in, these concepts are simply not viable.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
we see this, too, in our daily living. all the scriptures of every philosophy, religion, sect and cult have their concepts - what they deem as the bedrock of their prescribed way of life. and if one was to objectively compare them, many of the notions overlap - honesty, love, charity, faith, prayer, etc. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
and again, many a times, these concepts are put back on the shelf and the appropriate vehicle to navigate us through life's twists and turns is unavailable... they remain as notions, buried in the back our minds, known yet unapplied. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
why do we do this ? </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
why say life is complicated, but take no steps to simplify it ?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
why say i want to know what god is, yet not walk towards god ?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
why say i want to understand life, yet not study or practice the path prescribed by your faith ?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
is it fear of the unknown ? </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
would it not be acceptable by your peers ?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
are you just lazy ?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
many may say they are happy the way they are, that is wonderful - let them continue to be happy and we should, indeed, be happy for them.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
the rest of us all have our personal set of notions, and are ready to debate them over dinner - but of what use are they if they bring you no peace, have no practical application in your existence and simply burden you with guilt?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
i love concept cars, but life - i'd rather have a real one... let's put all the parts together and take our being from the notional to the ultimate Experience.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
live well.</div>

<div><div><div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-fElh-BVlraA/Tl7MHD3PC3I/AAAAAAAAGlE/dNU0S8LUx4E/s1600/Study.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="232" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-fElh-BVlraA/Tl7MHD3PC3I/AAAAAAAAGlE/dNU0S8LUx4E/s320/Study.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">( Picture courtesy of The Chimaya Mission ) </div><div><br />
</div></div></div></div></div><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">Kids will be kids. they will come and plop themselves on your bed and suddenly blurt out "show me god!" so loving parents will spin a wonderful tale and indicate to the child all the miraculous acts of nature and say "that is how we know there is a god..."</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">actually, we are all pretty much still in the same boat. we can take up any religious text, and we are lead by inference to a point where, if one wants to pursue the search, a need to move forward into a subtler realm is required.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">one can have direct experience of heat, not by reading about it, but by suspending your hand over an open flame. this sort of gross experience is easy. however, for a sincere seeker, the path forward does not end in reading and debating a text. if the experience of an elevated plane of existence is not exhibited in daily living and one is still overcome repeatedly by distress or pleasure, then there is hardly any difference between the "educated" man and the fool.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">a subtle truth that supersedes mental cognition requires a different path. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">words cannot signify that which is beyond the concept of words. </div><div style="text-align: justify;">hence, terms like God, Truth, Consciousness, etc. are simply for the child in us.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">from knowledge, enlightenment must ensue. one must, of course, apply that knowledge - sorry, but there are simply no shortcuts.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">there is no "Show and Tell" when it comes to Self Realization - you study, you practise, you withdraw your senses, you discriminate, you detach, you sit in silence, you disengage your mind, you meditate, you dissolve and you know you are... a complete experience - true, immediate and continuous; an existence beyond time and space, omnipresent and omnipotent.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">then, well - then it's up to you :)<br />
<br />
live well.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">i like taking pictures. then i will come home and edit them; crop, straighten and enhance them - sometimes to the point where they look nothing like the subject matter ! this is my vision of the way it should have been - all the while in complete forgetfulness of the fact that the image is not the reality - it is simply a snapshot - a pale reflection of the subject; it no longer possesses the capacity to evoke the same sense of joy, wonder or pathos that i felt while in its presence. the memory of those emotions slowing fading over time to a point where eventually all i can say is "i remember that day..."</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">here is a clear delineation of the essence and the image - and it is in our nature to do this. we are obsessed with the image while oblivious ( most of the time ) of the underlying essence.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">existence vs form is where most lose their perspective; for while the form may indicate a truth, it is NOT the truth. at best, it is a shadowy reflection of the same.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; text-align: justify;">we have a basket a concepts that we balance precariously on our heads and we trudge through our lives trying to pander our wares to all who cross our path, yet finding no joy in the very concepts we are so desperately trying to market; still needy, scared and ultimately alone - trying to fill a void that we cannot even define. we have walked into our own picture - the Essence now photoshopped to our distorted view of the Original Subject. </div><div><br />
</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">enjoy the pictures, they are lovely - BUT, always be aware of the underlying Truth... and this takes practise.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">awareness of Him, will take you to Him.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">getting lost in the images will merely leave you standing alone in the gallery and no matter how lovely the pictures, you will eventually tire of them - for they are not real.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">live well.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div></div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03893607517675246521noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4272249972786341247.post-2398394665920979042011-08-25T08:59:00.000+08:002011-08-25T08:59:26.869+08:00Sum of the parts..<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ugfleYT5B_M/TlWdZZmRrFI/AAAAAAAAGk8/arbMs2jvE6Y/s1600/Sum.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ugfleYT5B_M/TlWdZZmRrFI/AAAAAAAAGk8/arbMs2jvE6Y/s320/Sum.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">i have often heard it say that "the sum of the parts is greater than the whole".</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">does that apply to a given philosophy or belief system ?</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">if all stems from One Source, then if we add up all the manifestations of that One, does it exceed the One ?</div><div style="text-align: justify;">probably not.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">so we have a bit of a mathematical conundrum - for millennium, sages and seers, prophets and sufis have declared, He is within, search and you will find, etc., etc., etc. so everything outside put together is not equal to Him, yet a hitherto unknown force within me ( which is incidentally also a part of the everything outside ), can lead me to all of Him ?</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">how delightfully curious :)</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">this driving force is an integral self knowledge, an intuitive truth - a sort of base code in our programming; we evolve to a certain point and the software is auto-activated. we are almost compelled to know... who am i ! </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">hence, for those in whom this urge has not been activated, they cannot be forced to search for, nor to believe in any concept of a god - let them be, their time will come when it comes.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">for those in whom this urge is blossoming - assist and encourage them if you can. it is not the path but the destination that is of importance so let not over-zealousness dampen their curiosity, let them choose their own path.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">for those in whom the urge is overwhelming, who have made their life a journey inward and have found the Source - they are Masters and now exist in Awareness of the One at all times. sit by their feet and learn from them.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">ultimately it is never about the logic of existence for that will always be limited by the constraints of the mind - this Wisdom stands at the threshold beyond the boundaries of conceptualization : the finite cannot ever equate to the Infinite whereas the Infinite can "contain" within itself and exude from itself all of finitude and yet ever remain complete and Infinite - again, how delightful :)</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">live well.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
